I was about 5km from the scene, says Malaysian in Paris

"I was going back to my residence by train when it suddenly stopped and there was an announcement that something had happened at the next station." Recounting his experience during the Paris attack, project engineer Mohd Farid Razali, 28, said the situation in the train became chaotic as passengers rushed out. "I was about 5 km away from the scene (Stade de France, St Denis) and it was at 5am. I saw people crying while some appear to be calling family members on the phone. I also ran out for fear of an attack," he told Bernama today. He then decided to go home by bus to Aulnay-sous-Bois and, by then, police were everywhere. Farid and his fellow Malaysian friends are back safe at their residence, based on their latest Facebook status. "I have already informed my family in Malaysia and the embassy about my situation. Malaysians here are constantly updating the latest developments." He said the Malaysian embassy had also provided emergency telephone numbers on Facebook. "At this point in time, we have only received a directive to remain at home and render assistance to people who are stranded in trains or buses," he said. – Bernama, November 14, 2015.]]>
