Telok Kemang UMNO division chief Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad has expressed regret over the action taken by allegedly 13 of Telok Kemang Umno branch chiefs in asking for party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak to step down. Isa said he would ask the Telok Kemang Umno division secretary to submit a report to the party's Disciplinary Committee for further action. "We truly regret the action taken by this group as it showed total disregard for our collective decision practice," he told a press conference here today. Isa said this should not have happened because during the last Umno division meetings, the Telok Kemang Umno had passed the motion to support Najib and Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, respectively. "This motion was passed unanimously. No division made any suggestion to ask for the resignation of the prime minister during the meetings. So, I deeply regret the action taken by these members and branch chiefs to stray from the collective decision made by the delegates during the Telok Kemang Umno division meeting. "I would like to assure that Telok Kemang Umno division's support for the prime minister will continue. We will always give our support and will continue to stay with him," he said. Nevertheless, Isa said although the group claimed to represent 13 branches, only five of those involved were identified as branch chiefs. Yesterday, a group of Telok Kemang Umno members, claiming to represent 13 branches, held a press conference to declare that they had lost confidence in Najib's leadership and urged him to step down as party president. – Bernama, October 25, 2015.]]>
