The runway at the Mukah Airport will remain closed until 7am tomorrow after a plane skidded this morning. Malaysia Airports via its Facebook account said following the incident involving a Maswings Twin Otter aircraft MH3553 from Miri at 9.20am, the runway was unserviceable. "All passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines on the flight schedules." MH3553 was landing on the runway when it skidded due to a burst trye on its left side rear landing gear. Meanwhile, Mukah police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau confirmed the incident. He said all eight passengers and two pilots on board were unhurt. Jimmy also said that the runway was wet following heavy rain last night.
