Relations in Pakatan Harapan ‘fine’, says Sivarasa after spat with Pua

PKR lawmaker R.Sivarasa said relations between PKR and DAP, and himself and DAP's Tony Pua, were "fine", despite their online spat over the Deepavali bazaar site. He said he considered the matter now closed at a public level, and said he did not want to discuss it further. "Any inter-party grievances will be dealt with using Pakatan Harapan or bilateral communications," Sivarasa told The Malaysian Insider in a Whatsapp message. "Relations between our parties, and for that matter, between Tony and me, are fine. See the manner in which all of us from all the opposition parties strenuously opposed the oppressive and unjust suspension of Yb Lim Kit Siang." The Subang MP was referring to the Dewan Rakyat's decision to suspend the DAP Parliamentary leader for six months, after he refused to apologise or retract remarks deemed insulting to speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin. Sivarasa added that the issue of the location of the Deepavali bazaar will be handled at the "appropriate forum", through the mayor and the councillors of the Petaling Jaya City Council. Pua, who is the MP for Petaling Jaya Utara, said today that he made public his greivances over the bazaar incident because he had wanted PKR to take action against the members involved that day. Pua also denied that the controversy had affected ties between the two parties. Two weeks ago, Pua said his visit to the Sungai Way village Deepavali Bazaar site, which is under his constituency, was disrupted by a group of thugs. Pua also wrote on his Facebook that traders who had "obtained licences to trade from MBPJ were stopped from trading by a group of gangsters led by a Samy and a Murali". Pua's Facebook post prompted Sivarasa to issue "friendly advice" on his blog over the matter, which Pua quickly rebutted with another press statement. Meanwhile, on Twitter, DAP's Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng and PKR legal advisor Latheefa Koya argued over the issue, and called each other "thugs" and "childish". – October 25, 2015.]]>
