1 dead, 2 injured in landslide at construction site

An Indian worker died and two Bangladeshi workers were injured in a minor landslide at a construction site in Ara Damansara near Petaling Jaya today, said police. Petaling Jaya Police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said the Indian worker was identified as Mondal Sujan, 32, from South Bengal, while the Bangladeshi workers were Sofiqul, 28, and Nobiur Rahman, 45.   "The three workers had been engaged in underground pipe works when the incident happened. Suddenly, the earth around the area where they worked collapsed and covered the trio," he told Bernama when contacted.   Sofiqul and Nobiur Rahman were sent the Kuala Lumpur Hospital while the body of Mondal was taken to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, he said. – Bernama, February 23, 2016.]]>
