All Umno divisions except Pagoh support Muhyiddin’s suspension, says Ku Nan

All Umno divisions except Pagoh have accepted the party's Supreme Council decision to suspend Tan Sri Muhyyidin Yassin's membership, Berita Harian reported. The Malay daily quoted Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor, also known as Ku Nan,  as saying that 190 out of 191 divisions nationwide supported the suspension, resulting in Muhyiddin losing his deputy president's post. On the Pagoh division's rejection of the move to suspend the Pagoh MP, Ku Nan said they were free to do so. Muhyiddin is Umno Pagoh division chief. "At this point, Muhyiddin is only suspended and not fired. He is still an Umno member. "I don't care if his Umno division rejects the decision, they can do so," he told the daily. Muhyiddin was suspended as Umno member by the party's Supreme Council on Friday until the next party elections. He lost his post as Umno deputy president as a result. The following day, Umno Pagoh stated that they rejected the Supreme Council decision, saying it did not follow the level of prescribed channels as stated in the party constitution. Ku Nan however, defended the supreme council's move, and said it followed Umno procedure and the constitution. On Saturday, Ku Nan said that Umno would not hesitate to sack Muhyiddin if the continued with his actions to damage the party. "If he continues in his ways to damage the party, we will send a letter to the disciplinary board so that they can take action to sack him if he continues his destructive approach towards the party," he said. – February 29, 2016.]]>
