Flood in Sarawak persists, 1000 still at relief centres

As of 8am today, 1,005 flood victims from 341 families are still staying at four relief centres in Serian, about 40km from Kuching. State Civil Defence Department public relations officer Siti Huzaiman Ibrahim said the number, at 8pm last night, was 1,043 comprising 345 families. If the fine weather persists, more families would be able to return to their respective homes, she said. The flood victims are temporarily staying at the relief centres at Dewan Masyarakat Serian, Balairaya Slabi Entungkuh, Dewan Masyarakat Gedong and Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanah Puteh,  – Bernama, February 26, 2016.]]>
