KL ex-CID chief’s trial fixed for May 3

Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department (CID) former chief, Datuk Ku Chin Wah's trial for allegedly failing to declare a commission of RM961,500, has been fixed for six days from May 3. Sessions Court Judge Mohd Nasir Nordin also set March 28 as the mention date for deputy public prosecutor Budiman Lutfi Mohamed to hand over the necessary documents to counsel Datuk Geethan Ram Vincent. Ku, 58, was charged on January 22 with committing the offence at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters, Federal Government Administrative Centre in Putrajaya between December 23, 2013 and January 21, 2014. He faces a maximum RM1 million fine or one year imprisonment, or both, under Section 49(3) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001, if found guilty. – Bernama, February 23, 2016.]]>
