Malaysian woman in New Zealand charged with toddler’s murder

A Malaysian woman in New Zealand charged with the murder of a four-year-old girl has been denied bail by a court in Auckland, The Aucklander reports. The New Zealand daily said the 44-year-old woman was charged with the murder of Maggie Renee Watson, who was found dead in August last year. The woman, whose name and other details of the case are suppressed by the court pending her appearance in the high court next month, was married to a Briton, who no longer stays in New Zealand, the report added. Police decided to press charges after a second autopsy found that her death was not accidental. Two months before her death, Maggie and her mother had spent time with her grandparents in Malaysia. "They were fine here," said her grandfather Clifford Sen. "Maggie was beautiful and had a lovely time with my wife and me. She was really good, really smart. I'll tell you she was so polite, so intelligent, so inquisitive." – February 19, 2016.]]>
