MCA ready to help BN in Sarawak polls with cyber experts

MCA today stated its commitment to helping the other Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties in the upcoming 11th Sarawak state election, especially in the Chinese-majority constituencies. Its secretary-general Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan said MCA would be sending its machinery, especially those with the expertise in using the social media to counter the slander and baseless accusations by the opposition. "Today's society has changed, leaning more towards the cyber arena. We need to tackle the problem more through the social media. We will send our experts in the cyber war. "Or we will help train people there as there is not much time left. I think priority should be given to the social media aspect as nowadays, most people don't go to the ceramah or read the newspapers. Information is disseminated through the social media." He said this to reporters after opening the Father Sumangalo Memorial Hall of the Penang Buddhist Association in George Town today. Ong was, however, confident that the personality and demeanour of Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem could help maintain BN's position in that state, and bring more changes and development to the people. Ong, who is also Penang MCA liaison chief, said: "Adenan is a leader who is open, honest and sincere in turning Sarawak into a more developed and harmonious state. "I hope there will be more leaders like the Sarawak chief minister. We should give his leadership the chance to bring a new form of development, hence setting an example to the other states. This is a way that we should encourage." – Bernama, February 14, 2016.]]>
