Migration consultant threatens to expose Sirul, says report

A migration consultant who assisted murder convict Sirul Azhar Umar's stay in Australia, has threatened to tell all if the former Malaysian police commando mentioned his name in an upcoming expose. The Australian quoted Robert Kandralingam Chelliah as saying he would reveal the extent of access granted to high-ranking Malaysian officials to Sirul, who is now held at Sydney's Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. He said that if Sirul tried to politicise his professional help, the gloves would come off and he would be forced to reveal their conversations including those with the Malaysian lawyers. "I would have thought a platform would not be freely granted to a person in detention to propagate his version of the story. "If the Department of Immigration does not know the extent of Sirul's freedom of communication with the outside world... they would be derelict in their duty." Chelliah said, according to the report. This followed a series of video recordings by Sirul published on Malaysiakini, in one of which he allegedly revealed the names of those who purportedly attempted to bribe or coax him into implicating Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu. A source had apparently told the news portal that five names were mentioned. – February 16, 2016. MORE TO COME]]>
