Najib joins Asean leaders at summit hosted by Obama

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and other Southeast Asian leaders joined President Barack Obama at the two-day US-ASEAN Summit currently underway in Sunnylands, California. The focus of the leaders' gathering today is on strengthening Asean's economic growth through innovation and entrepreneurship. Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed joined Najib during the discussion on economic matters. Malaysia, as the 2015 Asean chair, hosted the 3rd Asean-US Summit in Kuala Lumpur in November last year. It was then that Obama invited the leaders of the 10-member grouping to meet on US soil for the first time. Asean groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Obama and his Asean guests are scheduled to attend a dinner at the meeting venue – Sunnylands, a 90ha estate in Rancho Mirage, where they will continue their discussion.
