Pagoh Umno rejects Muhyiddin’s suspension

Pagoh Umno has rejected the party's decision to suspend Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin until the next elections. The Johor division's deputy chief Ismail Mohamed told The Malaysian Insider the move by the party's supreme council last night did not follow required procedures according to the Umno constitution. "In a meeting today, Pagoh Umno decided to reject Muhyiddin's suspension," said Ismail in a statement shared with The Malaysian Insider. The meeting which started at 11.15am also decided that Muhyiddin's suspension was a betrayal to Umno members as he was legitimately elected by party members nationwide. Muhyiddin lost his deputy president post upon suspension of his membership, which was effective immediately. – February 27, 2016. MORE TO COME]]>
