PAS lauds Haron Din’s appointment to Putrajaya’s Islamic panel

The appointment of PAS spiritual leader Datuk Haron Din as head of the Islamic Consultative Council's dakwah cluster should not be seen as an insult but an honour, said party deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man. Calling the appointment a recognition of Haron Din's knowledge of Islam, Tuan Ibrahim said many PAS leaders were also part of various committees and boards and was not considered a problem to the party. Tuan Ibrahim was responding to former PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa's remark that it was an insult to be appointed to a position under Umno president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. "I don't see it as an insult, there are many PAS leaders sitting on committees such as the Fatwa Council. PAS was even invited to sit on the MTEM board. "So it is not an insult, it is a recognition. "This is a recognition of his vast knowledge. This is not an insult to the party. We have to view this more openly." Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi appointed Haron as the head of cluster, which enabled the PAS leader to raise suggestions to the council for discussions. – February 13, 2016.]]>
