PKR ready with names for Sarawak polls, says Azmin

PKR has identified potential candidates including several new faces to contest the coming Sarawak elections. Its deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the selection of the candidates had been decided by the party's election committee and their names would be announced after the polling date for the election had been announced. "The selected candidates met the key performance index set by the party. They include those with vast experience in Sarawak politics and young professionals," he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting in Shah Alam today. On Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's statement on the removal of two PKR assemblymen as directors of state-linked firms, Azmin said he was just conveying the party's decision. The two assemblymen – Ong Chin Wen (Bukit Tengah) and Cheah Kah Peng (Kebun Bunga) – were sacked after they abstained from voting on a land reclamation motion tabled by Barisan Nasional during an assembly sitting last November. – Bernama, February 24, 2016.]]>
