Rebel Umno leaders to remain in party to oust Najib

Umno rebel group the Coalition of Branch Chiefs Malaysia (GKCM) says it will remain in the party as a pressure group to push for president Datuk Seri Najib Razak's resignation. GKCM spokesman Kamarul Azman Habibur Rahman said the group would not quit Umno as veteran leader Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad did yesterday, as this would make them "outsiders" and not a force within the party. "Tun (Dr Mahathir) himself does not encourage us to follow his step and leave Umno. "If we leave Umno, they will say we are outsiders. They can claim Umno is accepted from all sides," he told The Malaysian Insider.  Kamarul said GKCM was also adopting a wait-and-see stance for now.
