China will work with Sarawak in 5 areas, says envoy

China has identified five priority areas for cooperation with Sarawak following the Chinese ambassador's visit to Sibu and Kuching. Dr Huang Huikang said during the visit, he saw political stability and economic prosperity in Sarawak. "I have identified five priority areas, such as agriculture, infrastructure, education, capacity-building and lastly, friendship and cooperation," he said at a press conference after paying a courtesy call on Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem in Kuching today. Huang said all these were priority areas for cooperation between China and Sarawak. "We are confident of this cooperation and looking to a bright future. Those are the main contents of my meeting with the chief minister," he said, adding that it was his second meeting with Adenan, a follow-up of their last meeting in June 2014 to strengthen and promote cooperation with Sarawak. He also praised Sarawak's policies and measures, adding that both parties were committed towards promoting regional peace and prosperity. – Bernama, March 10, 2016.]]>
