Dr Mahathir’s movement to oust Najib against legal ethics, says Zahid

The new movement led by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to oust Datuk Seri Najib Razak from office was against legal ethics if it did not follow the democratic process, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today. The New Straits Times Online reported Zahid as saying that all of prime ministers including Najib had been legally elected. "Any bid to remove Najib without following the same democratic process is going against legal ethics," Zahid said in Malacca today. Dr Mahathir led more than 50 individuals, including political foes and civil society leaders in their individual capacities, in the signing of the "Citizens Declaration that included a call for Najib's removal from office through non-violent and legally permissible means. Dr Mahathir had said there were many from different backgrounds and political affiliations who were united in wanting Najib out for his "damage" to the country through his alleged financial scandals and undermining of institutions. – March 4, 2016.]]>
