A 40-year-old man was arrested in Malaysia on March 7 for suspected involvement in a counterfeit casino chips case more than four years ago, Channel NewsAsia reported. Quoting the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the report said the Malaysian was the fifth suspect in the case. He was handed over to SPF yesterday with cooperation from Malaysian police. In August 2011, officers from the Casino Crime Investigation Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department commenced investigations into a syndicated case of suspected counterfeit casino chips used at the Marina Bay Sands. Four suspects were arrested and have been prosecuted in court, according to the report. It said the Malaysian suspect would be charged in court today for using counterfeit casino chips.
