Nazir Razak latest Instagram post invites speculation

Datuk Seri Nazir Razak's (pic) latest post on Instagram, of two elephants locking tusks, has sparked a round of speculation of the cryptic message behind the photo. The CIMB group chairman and younger brother to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak posted a caption with the photo, saying it reminded him of a Malay proverb. "Amazing pic reminds me of Malay saying 'Gajah sama gajah berjuang, pelanduk mati di tengah-tengah'. Loosely translated – when the powerful fight each other, everything else can be collateral damage." The post uploaded today has since gained over 400 likes and invited speculative comments from other Instagram users, with many linking it to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's latest effort to unseat Najib, by teaming up with opposition and civil society leaders through the Citizens' Declaration. Loo Yeng Peng by the handle @dtklyp commented,"Could it be pelanduk means common rakyat in Malaysia context sir??" while another user by the handle @ungkuaqeel said, "Is this a reference to team mahathir and team najib". Nazir's public Instagram account has more than 42,000 followers and his postings have been known to stir discussions related to the country's administration. In the description field, he describes himself as a semi-retired banker and Chelsea fan and warns that "viewer sense of humor advised". – March 8, 2016.]]>
