No action against PAS leaders who signed Citizens’ Declaration, says youth chief

PAS leaders who signed the Citizens' Declaration demanding Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's removal from office will not face disciplinary action as they did so in their personal capacity, says party youth chief Nik Abduh Nik Aziz. He said the attendance of a senior party leader, Datuk Mustafa Ali, at the Friday event was with the knowledge of PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang. "The president is aware of his attendance and that of another leaders. And they were there in their personal capacity," Nik Abduh said today in the Parliament lobby. He said PAS did not support the Citizens' Declaration but still wanted to change the country for the better. Besides Mustafa, the other PAS leader at the event was Pokok Sena MP Datuk Mahfuz Omar. The declaration and the Save Malaysia movement were announced last Friday by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and was attended by some Pakatan Harapan leaders and civil society leaders as well. – March 7, 2016.
