Terengganu BN reps backing Ahmad Razif as MB

All 17 Barisan Nasional assemblymen in Terengganu, except Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, have voiced their support for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman. Ahmad Said, the former Terengganu MB and Kijal assemblyman, yesterday tabled a no-confidence motion against his successor but the motion was rejected by Speaker Datuk Mohd Zubir Embong, who said Ahmad Said did not follow procedures when he proposed the motion. Ahmad Said tabled the motion close to the afternoon recess. Terengganu has 32 state assemblymen, comprising 17 from BN, including Ahmad Said, 14 from PAS and one PKR.   Today, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said the party was also not part of the tabling of the motion against Ahmad Razif and would only support such a move if there were reasonable issues involved. He said PAS would not be involved in another party's fight for positions. Ahmad Razif replaced Ahmad Said as menteri besar in May 2014 after the latter was forced to resign. Ahmad Said then announced his decision to exit Umno following his forced resignation. He retracted the decision shortly later. – March 9, 2016.]]>
