DAP wants action against PAC chairman over no-show on 1MDB report

DAP wants to refer Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin to the Parliamentary Rights and Privileges Committee after his failure to attend a meeting which he was to have chaired. The meeting would have seen the auditor-general present the final report on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB). Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng said Hasan had created confusion by issuing a statement that the PAC meeting set for today and yesterday had to be postponed and justifying it by saying "most PAC members are overseas". Lim said only three of the 14 PAC members were overseas and that the meeting could have been held. "I have filed a complaint with the speaker today to refer Hasan to the Rights and Privileges Committee as he not only neglected his duties but confused the public and members of Parliament with his statement. "The Rights and Privileges Committee must now decide on what action it will take," Lim told reporters after submitting his complaint to speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia. – February 25, 2016.
