No Malaysians involved in protest in India, says Wisma Putra

No Malaysians were involved in a protest by the Jat community in Haryana, northern India yesterday. In a statement today, Wisma Putra said the Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi would continue to monitor the situation from time to time. "The Foreign Ministry is also advising Malaysians to be cautious and follow the advice of local authorities," Wisma Putra said. The protest over civil service and education institution quotas resulted with five dead and 78 injured. Following that the state government issued a curfew order for five towns, Sonipat, Gohana, Rohtak, Bhiwani and Jhajjar.
