No skin off my nose, says Rafidah of Nazri’s ‘nobody’ attack

Umno veteran and former minister Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz has brushed off insults by party colleague Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz who called her a "nobody" in response to her criticism of the current government.  Rafidah said she left it to Allah who knew everything, adding that Nazri's words had no impact on her. "No skin off my nose… let alone my back. "This is how some people communicate… in their best language," she said on her Facebook page. Nazri, the culture and tourism minister, yesterday told reporters that Rafidah was not an important person and had "no traction" or position. "Rafidah now is a nobody," he said of the former Wanita Umno leader. Rafidah had also been minister of international trade and industry when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was prime minister. Nazri is also an Umno Supreme Council member. Rafidah recently said Malaysian leaders should see the story of the emperor with no clothes as a reminder to be accepting of criticism. Of late, she has been a frequent critic of Putrajaya, urging the government to focus on running the country and solving the people's problems. Some of her past Facebook posts have also been veiled remarks on people's concerns over alleged scandals involving 1Malaysia Development Bhd, and implicating Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Rafidah said there was nothing wrong in raising questions and that she did so out of love for the country. "This is what I get for giving advice from the heart and with sincerity, and because i love the party and country," she said. – February 24, 2016.]]>
