Widow of Mina stampede victim receives RM20,000 from Tabung Haji

Lembaga Tabung Haji today presented a cheque for RM20,000 to Suriahanim Abdul Hamid, 41, the widow of Zulkifli Samad who was killed in a stampede in Mina last year. Tabung Haji Group deputy managing director and deputy chief executive officer Datuk Johan Abdullah presented the cheque as haj pilgrim death Takaful benefit when visiting the victim's family at Taman Ukay Bistari today. "Our condolences to the family of the deceased and may his soul be placed among the faithful and blessed," he said in a media statement. The media statement also quoted Suriahanim as expressing her gratitude to the care showed by Tabung Haji apart from the efforts in the search and processing her husband's remains. Zulkifly, 50, died in the stampede tragedy in Mina last September and his remains were laid to rest at the Syara'ek cemetery in Mecca. – Bernama, February 19, 2016.]]>
