Putrajaya should explain decision to classify 1MDB audit report, says Rais

Former information minister Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim said he found it strange that Putrajaya decided to place the auditor-general's final report on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) under the Official Secrets Act 1972 (OSA). Rais said the decision should have been followed up with a proper explanation to avoid public confusion. "I thought it was rather weird but it should have been accompanied with the government's answer on why it was classified under the OSA. "It should have been elaborated so that more questions on it will not weaken the current situation," he told reporters after launching the "Global Home Coming" programme at the International Islamic University in Gombak today.
